Design of Acer Nitro 5 2022

Here is Acer Nitro 5 laptop come with amazing upgrade. The top LID of Nitro looked weird before, and now they have added some gaming look. Here are blue, and red color patterns, and I am impressed in the first look. Top LID is made up of plastic, and flex is the same as other Nitro's. I would say there is no improvement in terms of build. It is the same only the looks have been changed. The build of Acer Nitro 5 is norm, and good according to the price

The interior of Acer Nitro 5 is also made up of plastic, and the Keyboard flex is also very minimal, On the top of the keyboard, there are some vents for airflow, and the black looks are also change. Here on the left side are some ports, and some vents as well. On the bottom, there are some vents, and it has gaming look.

Ports of Acer Nitro 5 2022

Here on the left side of Acer Nitro 5, we get an RJ45 LAN port, 1 USB 3.2 GEN 1 Type-A port, and headphone/mic jack combo.

There on the right side, 2 USB 3.2 GEN 2 Type-A ports out of which one is for power off charging. In power off charging, the phone charges even when the laptop is off. You will get constant charging output even after turning the laptop off.

On the back of Acer Nitro 5, we get an power input port, 1 USB Type-C port which is a 3.2 GEN 2 port, and we will also get display output from here because this is an thunderbolt 4 ports, and here we also get the HDMI 2.1 port.

Display of Acer Nitro 5 2022

Acer Nitro 5 2022 has improved the display this time. it has 15.6 inches FHD IPS antiglare display with a refresh rate of 144Hz, and the color gamut is not mentioned anywhere. It felt slightly better than 45% NTSC, and the brightness is also greater than 250 Nits.

Keyboard and Touchpad of Acer Nitro 5 2022

We get an 4 zone RGB Keyboard which can be customized in the Nitro sense software, and take command of the inner workings of the laptop via the dedicated Nitro Sense Key.

The trackpad is slightly although this is fully clickable but I didn't face issue while using.

Speaker and Camera of Acer Nitro 5 2022

Acer hasn't worked on the speaker, it has the same dual 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra. It has down firing speakers, and the quality is very basic, there is nothing to say about the bass, and the treble.

The camera of Acer Nitro 5 has a 720p webcam, it seems slightly improved as compared to the previous, but the color have a pastel effect but it will work.

Battery of Acer Nitro 5 2022

The Acer Nitro 5 2022 has a 57.5 Whr battery, and we did basic usage in this with keyboard light off, and display brightness set to 50%. The battery saver mode was on, and we got a battery backup of 1.5 hours. So, this is not good in terms of battery backup.

Gaming Performance of Acer Nitro 5 2022

First game we tested is "CS-GO" on high settings. We getting approximately 100 FPS due to Ram. We would have gotten 150-160 FPS if it had 16 GB RAM, So counter strike performance had to be good, and CPU/GPU temperature are 26-27 degrees.

Second game we tested is "Call of Duty Warzone" put on high setting, and DLSS put on balanced. As a expected we getting very substandard FPS up to 40-50 FPS sometime 60 FPS.

After that, We tested Forza Horizon 5 on high preset because it has RTX 3050. We are getting 60 plus FPS, and Forza Horizon 5 is not very RAM hungry. If you install dual channel RAM you will get a boost of 10-15 more FPS.

Verdict

That was its complete review of Acer Nitro 5. If you are buying a 12th generation laptop its highly recommend for gaming to buy 16 GB RAM variant. About the performance, price to performance ratio, there is no issue with that. You get GN 4 SSD, i5 12th gen multicore, and single core performance is really good. All the performance loss is due to the RAM. I was expecting 4800 Mhz clock speed RAM in this but this one has 3200 Mhz RAM its price us Rs 85,000. You can also install a maximum of 1 TB HDD with 5400 RPM which is mentioned on the Acer's websites.
