All Ship Types and How to Unlock them in Skull and Bones


1. Dhow (Extra Small) - Hunter


  • Allows the preservation of resources gained from hunting wildlife.

  • How to unlock: Default Skull and Bones first ship, the Dhow, is acquired in the prologue. Although not particularly powerful, it is useful for gathering resources early in the game. The Hunter perk preserves hunted animals.



2. Hulk (Small) - Ironclad


  • Increases Brace Strength by 250%.

  • Reduces Brace Strength depletion by 20% when hit.

  • Improves Brace Strength Recovery by 25%.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from The Sacred Tree outpost The Hulk, which can be obtained at Rover infamy rank, is a strong ship with reduced brace ability time and damage taken. The Ironclad perk improves brace ability and lowers damage while bracing.


3. Bedar (Small) - Lancer


  • Increases damage from ramming by 25%.

  • Reduces the slowing effect of Torn Sails by 50%.

  • Applies the flooded effect to an enemy ship upon ramming.

  • How to unlock: Buy blueprint or complete A Seaworthy Ship quest Bedar, an early available ship, excels at ramming. Purchase the blueprint from the Shipwright or finish the mission. The Lancer perk enhances ramming damage and causes the flooded status.



4. Cutter (Small) - Unburdened


  • Regenerates hull health by 0.5%.

  • Severe damage is healed by 1% every second.

  • Friendly ships within radius share this effect.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from Lanitra in Angaya Coast. The Cutter, a support vessel, heals allied ships' health within a 100-meter radius. Lanitra's blueprint is available for purchase. The Unburden perk changes the tide of combat.


5. Sloop (Small) - Outburst


  • Explosives have a 50% chance to trigger explosions, dealing 1,500 damage.

  • Increases damage with explosives by 15% and to structures by 20%.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint or finish The Devil's Gambit quest. The Sloop, an efficient damage-dealing ship, causes bombs with the Outburst perk, allowing you to quickly sink opponents.


6. Barge (Small) - Detonate


  • Explosive weapons have a 70% chance of triggering an explosion within a 125m radius.

  • Effect automatically applies if the ship is ablaze.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from Kaa Mangrove Outpost. The Barge is designed for fire enthusiasts and deals significant damage. The Wildfire perk swiftly flames enemy ships, inflicting the Ablaze state.


7. Padewakang (Medium) - Tenacity


  • Increases Brace Strength Recovery by 4 per second.

  • Overall Brace Strength increased by 50%.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from shipwright on Telok Penjarah. Padewakang, a medium-sized explosive ship, causes significant damage. The Detonate perk improves the likelihood of igniting explosions within 125m.


8. Snow (Medium) - Tenacity


  • Similar to Padewakang, significantly enhances Brace Strength Recovery, bolstering the ship's defensive capabilities.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from vendor in Khmoy Estate. The Snow functions as a tank, has decent weaponry, and serves as a cargo ship. Its Tenacity merit improves brace ability while reducing damage taken.


9. Sambuk (Medium) - Scorched


  • Deals 5,000 burning damage when setting another ship on fire.

  • Fire spreads within a 150m radius.

  • Increases damage dealt to ships set ablaze by 50%.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from Yanita Nara. Sambuk, an improved fire damage dealer, is especially skilled at burning enemies on flames. The Scorched perk gives burning damage and improves damage to ships that have been set ablaze.


10. Brigantine (Medium) - Bullhorn


  • Increases ramming damage by 45%.

  • Reduces Torn Sail effect duration by 80%.

  • Applies the Flooded effect to any ship that is rammed.

  • How to unlock: Purchase blueprint from Ruined Lighthouse in the East Indies The Brigantine, which specializes in ram damage and firepower, becomes available late in the game. The Bullhorn perk increases ramming damage while reducing the duration of the Torn Sail effect.
