Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced will include a New Game Plus (NG+) mode, which has been highly requested. While the studio has not announced a release date, developers say the mode is one of the team's top priorities for future updates.
The confirmation came during a recent interview between YouTuber JorRaptor and Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Game Director Richard Knight, in which the developer revealed new information about the game's post-launch plans.
During the interview, Knight confirmed that New Game Plus had been in development since shortly after the game's completion.
"Yes, we're working on that right now. It's one of the first things," Knight said.
According to him, bringing NG+ to Black Flag Resynced was an early priority for the team because it is one of the most frequently requested features by players.
Although Ubisoft did not specify a launch date, Knight stated that the feature is still at the top of the studio's update plans.
"I really can't promise anything, but it's top of the list of things. It's something we want to get done."
Richard Knight stated that the team was able to use some of the work previously completed for Assassin's Creed Shadows, which received a New Game Plus mode after launch. Because the feature is already present in Ubisoft's technology, it simplifies development for Black Flag Resynced.
However, Knight explained that the two games are not identical, so the team still has a lot of work to do before the mode is ready. He also thanked Simon Lemay-Comtois, associate game director for Assassin's Creed Shadows, for contributing to the foundation that the Black Flag Resynced team is now building on.
Richard Knight stated that he would like to add exclusive rewards and new unlockable items to New Game. Plus, nothing has been confirmed yet. The team is still debating what can be included before making a final decision.
"If it's up to me, yes," he said, adding that discussions about development time and production resources continue.
Ubisoft has confirmed that New Game Plus is in development for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, but there is no release date yet. Richard Knight stated that the team is focused on finishing the feature first and will release it in a future update when it is ready.
Ubisoft's confirmation of New Game Plus is fantastic news for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resync players. While there is no set release date, the feature is a top priority and is currently in development. If Ubisoft includes exclusive rewards, New Game Plus could be one of the game's best post-launch updates.
