Blizzard Entertainment has officially revealed the release date for World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic, giving fans reason to celebrate. The highly anticipated pre-expansion patch is slated to be released on April 30, preparing the way for Cataclysm Classic's global debut on May 20 at 3pm PT (6pm ET / 11pm BST).

Blizzard stated that the Cataclysm Classic pre-expansion patch will bring huge changes to Azeroth, including a dramatic restructuring of the environment in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Players may also expect a number of system changes, new class and race combinations, and the addition of the Worgen and Goblin races.

Cataclysm Classic offers players exciting new features. The Archaeology profession introduces a world of ancient discoveries, while Reforging allows players to improve their gear and refine their gameplay techniques.

On May 20, players will begin on an exciting journey from level 80 to 85, discovering new zones, taking on new dungeons and raids, engaging in heated PvP fights in Tol Barad, and solving mysteries at the Darkmoon Faire on Darkmoon Island. Cataclysm Classic, like previous classic expansions like as Burning Crusade Classic and Wrath of the Lich King Classic, will be available to all active World of Warcraft subscribers.

During last year's BlizzCon in December, where Blizzard also revealed plans for three new World of Warcraft expansions, the release of Cataclysm Classic was confirmed. The War Within, the first book in the epic Worldsoul Saga that honors 20 years of World of Warcraft and lays the foundations for Azeroth's future with later chapters named Midnight and The Last Titan, is scheduled for release in late summer or early autumn of 2024.
