Exciting news for Cyberpunk 2077 fans! Gabe Amatangelo, the game's director, has confirmed that there won't be any more major updates coming our way. CD Projekt just published the much anticipated Version 2.0 update, which included significant revisions to the game's basic systems. And this week saw the release of Phantom Liberty, the game's only scheduled expansion. While CD Projekt Red will continue to resolve some issues with humble updates, its primary focus is now shifting to other projects, notably Cyberpunk 2077's sequel.

Amatangelo stated, saying, "2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the most recent major updates." We'll make a few minor changes, but these will be the last significant ones." He also hinted at the future by saying, "After that, it's all about Cyberpunk 2." Or, more specifically, 'Orion,' as we may end up calling it."

CD Projekt said last month that their choice to release only one expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 was motivated by technological factors as they switched to Unreal Engine development. Interestingly, after the expansion's release, a significant portion of the Phantom Liberty production team will shift to work on the next mainstream Witcher game.

The sequel, tentatively titled Project Orion, will begin development at CD Projekt Red North America, a brand-new studio in the United States.
