Cyberpunk 2077 Live-Action Project is in The Work

CD Projekt Red has teamed up with Anonymous Content known for programmes such as True Detective, to work on a live-action project based on the popular video game Cyberpunk 2077. Although specifics of the project's format (movie, TV series, or other) are unknown, CD Projekt Red and Anonymous Content are teaming up to bring the Cyberpunk universe to life.

Despite a difficult start, CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 has become an incredible hit after extensive patching and hotfixing. The game has sold over 25 million copies, with its most recent expansion selling 3 million in less than a week. In addition, the Netflix animation Cyberpunk: Edgerunners garnered positive feedback, heightening interest in the live-action movie.

Key figures in the project include Ryan Schwartz, Director of Development, and David Levine, Chief Creative Officer. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the project is still in its early stages, with a scriptwriter looking for work. It will be created in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team to maintain accuracy to the game's spirit.

Following the popularity of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime, this effort continues the pattern of spreading the Cyberpunk universe into passive media. While no concrete plans for a second season of Edgerunners have been announced, CD Projekt has expressed a significant interest in more transmedia projects based on the game's setting, promising more interesting announcements in the future.

As this popular gaming universe continues to expand and adapt, excitement for the next live-action movie remains at an all-time high, promising an exciting ride into Cyberpunk 2077's neon-lit dystopia. Stay tuned for additional information on this interesting film project.
