Glen Schofield, a well-known game developer and co-creator of Dead Space, has teased fans with a sneak peek at his next project  which will be revealed in 2024. Following their departure from Striking Distance earlier this year due to unsatisfactory reviews of their debut game, The Callisto Protocol, Schofield has been working hard on an unidentified project in the video game industry.

Schofield, who is well-known for his work at Sledgehammer Games and Visceral Games, where he was instrumental in the development of the critically acclaimed Dead Space franchise, revealed that he has been engaged in an exciting new project linked to games despite taking a break. An accomplished professional with a background in both business and the arts, Schofield started out in the early 1990s as an art director for video games that were licenced, including Home Alone, Ren & Stimpy, and The Simpsons.

After joining Crystal Dynamics, he carried on his adventure by spearheading the creation of the Gex and Legacy of Kain franchises. Eventually, Schofield had a big impact at EA's Redwood Studios, which was eventually renamed Visceral Games. Before co-creating the renowned Dead Space series, Schofield worked on games including Godfather, 007, and Lord of the Rings.

Schofield moved to Sledgehammer Games by Activision in 2009, where he directed Advanced Warfare and co-directed Modern Warfare 3. Later, in 2019, he established Striking Distance under Krafton's auspices, initially aiming to create a separate narrative in the PUBG universe. Nevertheless, the project changed course and became an independent sci-fi survival horror game.

When the extremely applauded Dead Space reboot was announced by EA in December, the December release of The Callisto Protocol was met with acclaim but also criticism. An analyst forecast five million sales for The Callisto Protocol in January, but the product's slow initial acceptance prompted doubts about whether it would reach the two million mark by the end of 2023.

September marked Schofield's official exit from Striking Distance, which he described as "bittersweet." It was verified by a Krafton official that Schofield made the voluntary decision to explore new options, and fans are looking forward to the 2024 reveal of his most recent gaming project.
