Deep Silver has made an exciting announcement, revealing that the long-awaited first story expansion for Dead Island 2 will be released on November 2, 2023. Gamers may expect to enter a strange psycho-horror dreamscape as they explore the amazing the world of a cult in Malibu.
This new extension dubbed "Haus," is described by the publisher as a captivating journey into an altogether new plot. Players will face a hidden billionaire's techno-death cult as they fight for their life in the grip of the brutal Zompocalypse.
With a number of unique survival techniques Haus is prepared to breathe new life into the game. Gamers may expect to wield an exploding crossbow as well as eight new skill cards to improve their character's skills.
Deep Silver has previously confirmed the construction of another extension titled "SOLA Festival," scheduled to premiere in the second quarter of 2024 as part of Dead Island 2 expansion plans. Both of these expansions are included in the game's full Expansion Pass, which costs $29.99 / £24.99.
The journey to Dead Island 2 has been long and twisty. This zombie-themed action RPG, first revealed in 2014, went through a rocky development cycle defined by multiple delays and developer changes. Dambuster, a Deep Silver internal company, took over the reins and brought the game to fruition in 2019. Dead Island 2 was finally launched in April, and it was available on a number of platforms, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
Dead Island 2 release met all expectations with the game selling quite well. According to Embracer, Deep Silver's parent company the game sold one million copies in the first three days of release, a figure that rapidly doubled to two million in the first month. The response from players has been highly favourable, confirming Dead Island 2 as a must-play title in the realm of zombie-themed video games.
