In an unusual turn of events a Florida man Lawrence Sullivan popularly known as the 'Florida Joker' due to his heavily tattooed face resembling the iconic Batman character, The Joker, claims that Rockstar, the creators of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series, owe him $2 million for the alleged use of his likeness in the highly anticipated GTA 6 trailer.
Sullivan turned to TikTok to air his frustrations using his want to "talk" to the Scottish game developer about the unauthorised use of his likeness. In a second TikTok video, he stated emphatically, "Florida Joker ain't having that." You took my image, and you took my life." The disputed scene in the video includes a brief view of a Spanish-language news programme which shows a guy in jail garb with purple hair, dark eye tattoos, and tattoos around the mouth, who bears a strong similarity to Sullivan.
While the likeness is remarkable, it's important to note that this figure is only one of several viral videos taken in Florida that appear to have influenced portions of the GTA 6 teaser. The trailer has surpassed the lifetime views of GTA 5's premiere trailer on YouTube, setting a new record as the most-viewed video on YouTube in 24 hours (excluding music videos, which use a different view counting algorithm).
Rockstar encountered an unexpected problem on Monday when an unidentified account on the X platform (previously Twitter) preemptively leaked a low-resolution and extensively watermarked version of the GTA 6 unveiling trailer disrupting the planned release. Rockstar has yet to comment to Sullivan's claims adding to the continued mystery surrounding the highly anticipated GTA 6 release.
