GTA 6 Extended Look Officially Announced: Rockstar Confirms August 27 Premiere on Netflix

Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will receive a brand-new "Extended Look" presentation on August 27, marking fans' first major update in over a year. The showcase will premiere exclusively on Netflix before moving to Rockstar's YouTube channel later that day.
The announcement follows months of speculation in the GTA community, with players eager for new footage since the second trailer was released in May 2025. While Rockstar recently opened pre-orders and released new screenshots, fans were hoping for a more in-depth look at the game's world and gameplay.
The GTA 6 Extended Look will premiere on August 27 at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET, with Netflix getting the first exclusive stream. Rockstar will post the presentation to its official YouTube channel and GTA 6 website about six hours later, making it available worldwide.
Although Rockstar has not confirmed the length of the presentation or whether it will include gameplay, fans expect that the showcase will reveal more about Vice City, Leonida, and the story of protagonists Jason and Lucia.
Along with the announcement, Rockstar revealed new official artwork depicting the two main characters preparing for what appears to be a robbery. Fans quickly noticed Jason wearing a "Leonida" T-shirt with a surfing manatee design, sparking speculation that surfing may become a new activity in GTA 6. However, Rockstar has not announced any new gameplay features.
Netflix described the event as an in-depth look at "the next evolution in the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto series." The partnership is another collaboration between Rockstar and Netflix, following the release of several Rockstar titles on Netflix Games in recent years.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has also confirmed that physical editions will include a digital download code rather than a game disc. The Standard Edition is $80, while the Ultimate Edition costs $100 and includes additional in-game content.
