Nvidia made a ground-breaking announcement at CES 2024 by showcasing an exciting trailer for the PC version of Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition, which will feature support for Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). This version includes The Burning Shore expansion as well as the core game.
The trailer that was released verified the use of DLSS technology which is intended to improve the frame rate of specific games by using the capability of Nvidia GPUs from the 40 series. While the PC version's release date is still unknown, the Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Steam website suggests a 2024 release date.
The PC version of the game created by Nixxes who is well-known for their work on Sony's latest PC ports will support both Nvidia's Reflex and DLAA technologies. Alongside the official announcement trailer a number of screenshots featuring the PC version were also provided as proof of this fantastic news.
Remarkably, Horizon Forbidden West created some controversy when it was first released on the PS4 and PS5 in February 2022. By mid-April 2023 8.4 million copies had been sold according to the developer Guerrilla. The story follows protagonist Aloy as she battles severe storms and an unknown plant illness that threaten humanity in an effort to save the planet's delicate environment.

Never one to sit back and enjoy itself Guerrilla is currently working on an online project that takes place in the huge Horizon universe. Fans can now look forward to additional "epic solo adventures" with Aloy which promise more exploration and excitement in the unique world of Horizon Forbidden West.
