This laptop is a very late for market because Intel 12th generation, and Ryzen 6000 Series laptop already have started to come, but Ryzen 5000 series will remain relevant in the market until when 6000 series is launched properly.

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 comes in a plastic body. The build quality is not going to be exactly the same as Legion, but the build quality of ideapad gaming 3 is still satisfactory. The top flex is also minimal. There are some cut design on the top. So the look of laptop is very clean, and doesn't seem like a gaming laptop. The inside of laptop is also made up of plastics.
On the bottom of laptop there are some exhaust vents. There are not that big, and wide. One air exhaust vent is also present here, and one is present on the left side. Also have vent on upper part of keyboard for air flow, and direction of the air flow is outwards. So, there is no effect on the screen. The airflow goes in another direction after colliding with edge. So, the inside vent work after opening the laptop. The backside of laptop has mentioned with ideapad gaming . According to the build quality it is adequate.
Ports of Ideapad Gaming 3
In terms of ports, on the right side we have 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and headphone/mic jack combo. Moving over to the left side, have a power input port, RJ45 LAN port, HDMI 2.0 ports, 1 USB Type-C 3.2 GEN 1 port. You won't get display output, it is only for data transfer.

Ideapad Gaming 3 has a 15.6 inches full HD IPS, anti glare display which has brightness of 250 nits, 45% NTPC, 120 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate of ideapad is impressive you will enjoy playing games , and there is no issue if you want a laptop for multimedia. You will get the experience alike basic display. So, the color gamut is not that acceptable but still if you are going to purchase the laptop for the first time in medium budget there is no issue.
Keyboard and Touchpad of Ideapad Gaming 3
The keyboard, and touchpad exact same like Lenovo Legion 2020 model. The Ideapad gaming 3 keyboard including a number pad, dedicated media controls, large arrow keys for gaming and a 1.5mm key travel. The typing experience is also good, and it has a single blue color backlit keyboard. The Keyboard flex is slightly on the higher side but the overall quality of the Keyboard doesn't feel adorable. We get two levels in the Keyboard brightness.
The size of the touchpad is also superior, and it feels good while using.
Battery Life of Ideapad Gaming 3
The ideapad gaming 3 has 3 cell having 45 Whr battery. So, I put it battery saver mode, and I selected quiet mode. The screen brightness was 50%, the keyboard light off, and the refresh rate of panel was set to 120 Hz. Finally we I got 1.5 hours of backup which is not good at all. We will expect a minimum of 2-3 hours of backup. While gaming (on battery) that's why gaming laptops are required to be plugged in for charging whilst playing games. So, don't expect much from the battery.
Speaker/MIC and Camera of Ideapad Gaming 3
Ideapad Gaming 3 has good speaker, and loudness is decent. On the bottom, we get 2 down firing speakers, one on the side, and other on the side. There are 2w x 2 Nahimic Audio speakers feature high quality sound for every use. Whether it's music, movies or gaming, you get realistic surround sound every time. Featuring surround sound, sound tracking, Bluetooth sound sharing and night mode. You can now truly immerse yourself in the game and treat every adventure like real.
Camera of ideapad gaming 3 come with 720 HD with privacy shutter. Sliding it to the side camera gets enabled. So its satisfactory for privacy.
Gaming Performance of Ideapad Gaming 3
We have played 4-5 games on Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3.
The first game is Valorent on high setting. I getting up to 180-190 FPS because we have Ryzen 7 5800H, So Valorant performance had to be good, and CPU temperature are above 90.
The second games is Warzone with the setting of high ultra. I getting 90-100 FPS which is providing a really good experience with smooth gameplay.
Then Third game is CS-GO on high preset. In CS-GO as well, I was getting the same performance as Valorant as expected. I was getting 190-200 plus FPS. The CPU temperature are not that high. Talking about RTX 3050 graphic card temperature it is above 80 degrees.
Fourth is GTA 5 with the setting of very high. According to setting, ideapad gaming 3 performance is amazing. I was expecting 100 plus FPS but still, the reason behind that is the single channel RAM. Due single channel there is a slight drop in the performance of all the games. If it would have been 2 sticks of 8 GB in dual channel. We would have gotten 10-15 more FPS. Talking about the game performance of Lenovo ideapad gaming 3, it is no doubt good.
Then last game is Forza Horizon 5 on high preset because it is a Geforce RTX 3050 4 GB graphic card. On high preset we are getting 60-70 FPS which is decent, and the CPU/GPU temperature are also superior.
The games run real smooth even in ultra settings and the 16GB Ram variant is my recommendation to avoid any sort of performance issues. No heat issues yet, still it's recommended to buy a cooling pad.
Verdict
So, This was its complete review of Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 with Ryzen 7 5800H, and RTX 3050. The specification are justified according to its price whether it is gaming performance or CPU performance. According to the benchmark you can go for this.
First of all there is only one drawback which is regarding the wireless connectivity, and that is the Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth version 5.0 which is a drawback as compared to others. If we look the laptop according to Rs 79,000 ( $ 840 ), I would say this is slightly on the expensive side. According to me, its price should be Rs 72,000-75000. Rest is you will get MS Office, and Windows 11 home. It is a clean looking laptop, So if you are a office going person, and want to do basic usage in college so it won't provide a gaming look. Now its your choice whether you want to buy or not.
