According to Sony's latest financial data revealed on October 30, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has swung its way into gaming history, selling an amazing five million copies in just 11 days after its October 20 launch.


This achievement establishes Spider-Man 2 as the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game of all time, surpassing its predecessor's record-breaking start. Within the first 24 hours, the game attracted 2.5 million players worldwide, demonstrating the immense popularity of the heroic epic.


Sony's previous "fastest-selling" title belonged to God of War: Ragnarök, which sold 5.1 million copies in its first week. Specific data for the first 24 hours, however, were not provided. Prior to that, The Last of Us Part 2 excited fans in June 2020, selling over 4 million copies in its first three days. The previous record was held by Insomniac's original Spider-Man game, which sold 3.3 million copies in its first three days.

When Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released, it gained enormous critical compliments pushing Insomniac to new heights of success. The game's positive reviews add to its status as one of Insomniac's highest-rated works to date.
