Next Mafia Game Is In Development

The era of the next mafia is on the way.


Hanger 13 studio has confirmed the next Mafia game for the 20th anniversary of the Mafia franchise this month. In an extremely long interview with the Mafia developer Hanger 13 studio general manager, Roman Hladík confirmed in a blog post,

I'm happy to confirm we've started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it's a few years away and we can't share anything more right now, we're really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.

The first Mafia game turned out in 2002 and follows a made-up wrongdoing family in the city in view of Chicago during the 1930s. The ensuing Mafia games likewise followed different wrongdoing families in various fictionalized urban areas in various periods. It's been six years were Mafia 3 was released on October 7, 2016. Mafia 3 was the first title from 2k studio. The new Mafia game will be built on Unreal Engine 5 rather than the proprietary motor utilized for the past games.



Roman Hladík also speaks about the game development,

We learn new stuff, because things keep developing, right? In the early days of Mafia, making games was... I wouldn't say easier, but it was a small team with simpler technology and so on. Games and technology keep developing, so it's all about constant learning,

To commend the Mafia establishment's twentieth commemoration, 2K is making the first Mafia free on Steam from September 1-5.
