Nintendo Reveals First Gameplay of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for Switch 2

Nintendo has finally shown The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake in action, providing fans with their first extended look at how the Nintendo 64 classic was rebuilt for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The gameplay footage was revealed during Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, in which producer Eiji Aonuma showed Link exploring Kokiri Forest, entering the Great Deku Tree, and traveling to other familiar parts of Hyrule.
The remake includes a major visual overhaul while maintaining the original adventure's recognizable atmosphere. Nintendo redesigned Link, environments, and characters with more detailed graphics and a modern art direction in order to preserve the nostalgia of the 1998 classic.
There have also been a few noticeable changes to the gameplay. Link can now jump manually instead of automatically at specific ledges. A new dash ability should also speed up travel across Hyrule, while updated camera and movement controls give you more freedom to explore.
Nintendo also announced a new Threads of Time feature. It tracks Link's progress throughout the story and gradually creates a tapestry of his adventures, allowing players to easily see what they have accomplished.
Another unusual addition makes use of the Switch 2's built-in microphone. Players can hum melodies that Link has previously learned, allowing him to play the corresponding ocarina song in-game.
Hyrule Castle Town has also been expanded, with a more flexible camera and the ability to explore at night.
Despite these changes, Nintendo keeps some original elements, such as loading transitions between areas.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5. The remake follows the original game's successful 1998 release and 2011 Nintendo 3DS remaster, bringing one of Zelda's most celebrated adventures to a new generation of players.
