Phantom Blade Zero has received a new 11-minute trailer, providing fans with a closer look at the game's fast-paced combat, characters, and dark wuxia-inspired world ahead of a PlayStation State of Play presentation.

As pre-orders for the highly anticipated action game opened, developer S-Game released an extended trailer. The new footage shows protagonist Soul battling enemies in dramatic locations, including a memorable sequence involving combat on a moving wagon.

However, the trailer is only a preview of what's to come. Sony has confirmed that Phantom Blade Zero will be featured in a nearly 20-minute gameplay deep dive during State of Play on August 17.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on August 17, or 3 a.m. BST on August 18. The showcase is expected to go much deeper into the game's combat systems, characters, and player builds.

Donnie Yen Joins Phantom Blade Zero

Phantom Blade Zero also features martial arts star Donnie Yen. According to S-Game, Yen has been working on the game as a creative consultant since 2023, influencing the combat with his experience in martial arts and action films. He also handles the facial and motion capture for Mó Yuan, the father of the main character Soul.

Yen's involvement reflects the game's priority for fast, cinematic kung fu action. His martial arts filmmaking experience is expected to add realism and style to the game's combat, which combines traditional wuxia influences with Phantom Blade Zero's distinct "kungfupunk" setting.

Phantom Blade Zero Pre-Orders and Editions

Pre-orders for Phantom Blade Zero are now open. The Standard Edition costs $59.99, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99 in the United States. The Deluxe Edition includes additional outfits, a digital artbook, and the game's soundtrack.

Players who pre-order will also receive early access to the Legacy outfit and an accessory that boosts the Residual Dust drop rate by 10%. These rewards are not limited to pre-orders; players who purchase the game later can still obtain them via normal gameplay.

Phantom Blade Zero Release Date

Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC.

With pre-orders now available and a lengthy gameplay demo just days away, August could be a turning point for S-Game's ambitious action RPG. The upcoming State of Play will finally reveal whether the impressive trailers translate into the deep combat experience that fans have hoped for.
