Remedy has officially announced plans to grow and nurture the Alan Wake brand, following the success of the series' recently released second installment.

Alan Wake 2 was released in October, following a decade of challenges in creating a sequel to the original 2010 success, and it has received worldwide critical acclaim. The game not only received multiple important awards, but it also achieved a stunning milestone of selling 1.3 million copies, cementing its status as Remedy's fastest-selling game to date.

Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy stated excitement with the early sales performance of Alan Wake 2.

"We are pleased with the strong start of Alan Wake 2's sales. The game has maintained a high price point, and it has already recouped a significant portion of the development and marketing costs."

Virtala went on to express the studio's dedication to improving the gaming experience for existing fans while actively recruiting new players. He expressed confidence in the game's future success and highlighted the studio's commitment to its continuous development.

Notably, Remedy has announced plans for two paid expansions for Alan Wake 2. The first expansion, "Night Springs," is set to be released in late spring 2024, while the launch window for the second expansion, "The Lakehouse," has yet to be announced.

CEO Tero Virtala highlighted the strategic need of growing and expanding their existing properties, citing the related worlds of Control and Alan Wake inside the Remedy Connected Universe.

"We now have two established franchises: Control and Alan Wake, which are linked through the Remedy Connected Universe," Virtala explained. "Growing and expanding these franchises will be a key part of our future."

With these hopeful developments, Remedy has the potential to build on the success of Alan Wake 2, setting the way for an exciting and expanding future for the franchise in the gaming environment.
