Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Remakes Are Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 This October

This fall, the Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a major horror upgrade. Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 remakes will be available on consoles on October 16, 2026.

The announcement was made during the most recent Nintendo Direct, giving Switch 2 owners another way to enjoy three of the most popular modern Resident Evil games. All three titles will debut digitally first, with physical editions set to arrive on January 29, 2027.

Players will be able to purchase the games individually rather than as a single collection. Capcom will release Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition.

The Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition includes the main game, bonus costumes for Leon and Claire, a Samurai Edge weapon, and an alternate soundtrack.

Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition is an even larger package. It includes the full remake, the Separate Ways story expansion with Ada Wong, and the Extra DLC Pack, which contains additional costumes, weapons, and other items.

The releases also help to round out the Resident Evil lineup on Nintendo's latest console. Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem are already native on Switch 2, while older entries such as Resident Evil 1, 5, and 6 are playable via backward compatibility.

And Capcom hasn't finished yet. A remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica is set to release in 2027, as well as on Switch 2.

October could be a particularly exciting month for Nintendo fans who enjoy survival horror, as three major remakes are set to release at the same time. Whether players are returning to Raccoon City or discovering Leon's journey for the first time, Switch 2 is about to become an even more powerful home for Resident Evil.
