Great news for fans of  PlayStation 5.  Rare, the well-known developer has launched the Sea of Thieves closed beta for Sony's newest platform. Players who pre-ordered any version of the game in advance of its official release later this month will be able to have an early taste of the high seas adventure during this limited-time beta event, which runs until 9am UTC on April 15.

Players in this closed beta program will be able to not only explore the rich world of Sea of Thieves, but also collect Renown, a vital currency in the game, as well as a variety of cosmetic treats. These perks are part of Season 11's seasonal growth track and can be easily moved to the full game, providing an additional layer of incentive for beta testers.

In addition, 10 levels of Renown will be added to the beta participants' seasonal growth track, giving them a head start on Season 12 and ensuring a great start to their pirate exploits on PlayStation 5.

It's important to note that during the beta phase, players won't have access to the Pirate Emporium, the in-game store. This restriction meanwhile is a minor price to pay for the gamers' immersive early access experience.

Trophies will not be available to players during the period of testing, but all progress made toward them will be tracked and easily transferred to the retail version of the game. This is an important information for beta testers. This implies that upon the actual launch, achievements that were unlocked during the beta will be appropriately acknowledged and granted.

Rare has also revealed the game's cross-play performance, ensuring that players on PlayStation 5 may join their peers on Xbox platforms and PC for a truly unified multiplayer experience, catering to those who are eager to dive deeper into the Sea of Thieves environment.

Sea of Thieves is slated to make its PlayStation 5 premiere on April 30, marking an important milestone for both Rare and PlayStation fans. With its engaging gameplay, captivating universe, and now cross-platform compatibility, Sea of Thieves is prepared to provide an amazing journey on the high seas.
