The much awaited and significant update for Starfield dubbed the game's biggest improvement to date has been officially delayed, as announced by Bethesda. The upgrade was supposed to premiere today as a Steam beta and then be made available to all gamers in two weeks, but it has been delayed.

Bethesda confirmed the delay in a statement, stating that an issue was found that needs to be fixed before the update is rolled out to the Steam Beta. The updated release date will be determined later this week, the studio said, thanking players for their patience.

With "over 100 fixes and improvements," Bethesda promises a wide range of changes when the update finally launches. Interestingly, there will be a good amount of quest patches added that handle particular problems like difficulties with the "Eye of the Storm," which previously made activities like docking with the Legacy or starting data transfer difficult. Furthermore, issues such as Temples not showing up in the "Into the Unknown" quest will no longer prevent players from using Constellation to explore space.

In addition to improving quests, the update promises to improve game stability generally and bring about a number of visual upgrades. These enhancements include better lighting, more subtle shadows, enhanced texture quality, and widerscreen compatibility.

Some of the particular modifications include problems with "sun disc geometry," planet ring shadows, the return of items that have been bulldozed while returning to an Outpost, inaccessible ship hatches, and asteroids that track spacecraft endlessly.

Even with the delay Bethesda is still fully committed to Starfield; lately, the firm announced that it will be releasing significant updates and additions to the game every six weeks or so. Upcoming improvements that promise an enhanced and dynamic gaming experience for fans of Starfield include city maps, creative travel choices, and long-awaited mod compatibility.
