A new leak has reignited interest in Starfield as recent data suggests the popular space RPG from Bethesda Game Studios may soon arrive on the awaited Nintendo Switch 2.

According to recent reports, Starfield has been officially listed by Taiwan's game rating authority, which usually indicates an upcoming release. The listing, discovered earlier this week, refers to a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, though no official release date has been announced.

Starfield appearance in the Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information Board database is the clearest indication yet that the game will be coming to Nintendo's next-generation console. While the listing does not include additional information such as performance specifications or release dates, such classifications are typically one of the last steps before a public announcement.

Rumors of a Switch 2 port have circulated for months. Industry insiders previously stated that bringing the massive open-world RPG to Nintendo hardware has been difficult due to optimization issues. Despite this, the new rating strongly suggests that the technical barriers have been overcome.

Starfield Expanding to New Platforms

Starfield was initially released for Xbox and PC, but it has gradually expanded to other platforms. Earlier this month, the game was also released on PlayStation 5, making it available to a larger audience. If it comes to the Nintendo Switch 2, fans will be able to enjoy the space adventure on a portable device.

Bethesda has also expressed increased interest in supporting Nintendo consoles. With updated versions of older games and new titles planned, it's clear that the company is strengthening its relationship with Nintendo in preparation for future releases.

New Updates Bring More Content to Starfield

Starfield launched on PlayStation 5 with two major updates that added new content to the game. The first, Terran Armada, is a paid expansion that includes new characters, missions, star systems, and rewards. The second update, Free Lanes, is free and improves overall gameplay by adding interplanetary travel, new encounters, more places to explore, and a new vehicle called the Moon Jumper.

Even with these major updates, Bethesda claims that this is not a full remake of the game. The developers have stated that they still have more ideas and plans for Starfield, so players can expect additional updates and improvements in the future.

Even though the Taiwan rating gives credibility to the rumors of Starfield on Nintendo Switch 2, Bethesda has yet to officially confirm it. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement to learn about the release date, features, and performance. Still, the fact that the game has been rated suggests that an official reveal is coming, and if it does, it could be one of the Switch 2's biggest releases.
