Bethesda, the well-known game production studio has revealed some of its future ideas for Starfield hinting at the addition of city maps and new travel options. This information was revealed in a Reddit post accompanying the game's last minor patch, in which the studio stated its commitment to providing important new features and fixes every six weeks.

In a message to the community, Bethesda stated their commitment to correcting identified issues and stated that an update early next year would include a significant number of 'in-progress' quest patches, as well as the deployment of FSR3 and XeSS.

The post went into detail about the difficulties of resolving in-progress quest issues, highlighting the studio's development of a new mechanism to address these issues without requiring players to roll back their saved progress.

Furthermore, Bethesda highlighted their continuous attempts to meet player requests which range from the addition of city layouts and mod support to the promise of totally new modes of transportation, the details of which have yet to be released. The company informed players that these improvements will be part of a regular six-week cycle of fixes and upgrades.

Bethesda also highlighted their dedication to safety when making improvements, saying that if a smaller hotfix, similar to the recent asteroid update proves safe after heavy testing it will be issued. The post highlighted the thorough evaluation process that goes into even minor adjustments in a game as large and dynamic as Starfield.

Starfield Update 1.8.88

GAMEPLAY

Addressed an issue that would cause space matter to become stuck to player’s ship during space travel. Loading a save will now remove the space clingon. Please note: This fix should address any space matter being stuck in your travels, but not in instances where player ships have New Atlantis attached. A fix for that will be released in a later update.

OUTPOST

Fixed an issue that prevents random guns from spawning in a newly created Weapon Case after loading a save.

SAVE/LOAD

[MSS/Xbox] Fixed an issue where players could experience crashes while saving during long playthrough without going through the Unity.
