The Witcher 3 Remastered Gets New Update Fixing Lighting and DLSS Issues

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has received another update, with CD Projekt Red fixing several visual and performance issues that have affected players since launch. The latest patch is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game on PC.
One of the biggest changes focuses on the game's lighting. Some players have criticized the remastered version for looking noticeably brighter than the original, while other areas appeared unusually dark. CD Projekt Red has now made several lighting adjustments, including fixes for interiors that were appearing too dark.
The update also fixes a DLSS problem affecting the Xbox Play Anywhere version on PC. Players with compatible Nvidia graphics cards can now use DLSS upscaling as intended.
According to CD Projekt Red, the console versions have also received additional changes to bring them closer to the PC version. The developer has not provided full details about every console adjustment, but the changes are part of its ongoing effort to improve the remaster across platforms.
Another hotfix has also addressed several PC-specific problems. One fix targets an issue that could prevent players from saving or loading the game when their Windows Documents folder contained special characters. The update also fixes a problem that could make voice-over audio much quieter after players moved through the pause menu.
Several visual improvements have been made in Velen as well, including changes to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing. CD Projekt Red has also reverted a change that caused performance and visual problems for some players using HairWorks.
Other fixes include a problem with marketing telemetry settings and an issue that prevented some players from launching the Classic 1.32 version.
The Witcher 3 Remastered launched recently as a free upgrade for existing owners alongside a standalone release. While the updated version brings improved visuals and modern graphics features, its launch has been followed by reports of technical problems.
CD Projekt Red says it is still investigating player reports and is preparing another PC hotfix for save-related issues. More updates are expected as the developer continues working on the remaster.
