The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Gives Xbox Players a Free PC Version with Play Anywhere Support
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is giving Xbox players another reason to revisit Geralt's adventures. CD PROJEKT RED has confirmed that the upgraded RPG will support Xbox Play Anywhere when it is released on September 29, 2026.
The feature allows eligible Xbox owners to access the Windows PC version without purchasing the game again. Players can transition between Xbox Series X|S and PC while maintaining their progress within the Xbox ecosystem. Play Anywhere also includes support for Xbox handheld devices.
That means the September update is more than just a visual upgrade. The Witcher 3 Remastered features improved visuals, upgraded lighting, enhanced combat, smoother traversal and movement, redesigned monster behavior, and changes to the skill system.
CD PROJEKT RED will also add transmogrification, expanded photo mode, new combat finishers, and cross-platform mod support to Xbox Series X|S.
Existing owners will get the Remastered upgrade for free on eligible platforms. Existing owners can now download the game's two major expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, for free.
The Witcher 3 Remastered will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29, with a Battle.net release scheduled for the same date.
For Xbox players, the combination of a free Remastered upgrade and Play Anywhere support means Geralt's journey can now be followed across console, PC, and supported handheld hardware with no additional purchases.
