Xbox Series X and Series S Prices Jump Across Europe and UK, Leaving Gamers Facing Higher Costs

Microsoft has officially raised the prices of its Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles in Europe and the United Kingdom, with some models now costing up to €200 and £170 more than before.

The revised prices went into effect on August 1, confirming that European gamers are experiencing greater increases than customers in the United States. Microsoft first announced global price changes in June, but only revealed U.S. pricing, leaving international buyers to wait for final figures.

Under the new pricing, the Xbox Series X (1TB Disc Edition) now costs €799.99 in Europe, up from €599.99, while the Xbox Series X Digital is €749.99. The Xbox Series S (512GB) is now priced at €499.99, while the 1TB version costs €599.99.

In the UK, the Xbox Series X Disc Edition now costs £669.99, up from £499.99 previously. The Xbox Series S (512GB) has risen from £299.99 to £429.99, while the 1TB model is now £519.99.

The latest increase builds on an unusual trend in the gaming industry. Traditionally, console prices fall as hardware matures, but rising manufacturing costs, inflation, and ongoing supply chain challenges have pushed major companies to take the opposite approach.

Microsoft previously stated that the decision reflects the rising cost of gaming hardware production and shifting market conditions. Since the release of the Xbox Series X and Series S in 2020, the company has made multiple price adjustments to Xbox consoles.
