Assassin's Creed has certainly been one of Ubisoft's most popular franchises. However, some critics have suggested that the recipe has become stale with time. Nonetheless, fans are looking forward to the next installment in the series, which promises to infuse fresh life into the renowned property.

Assassin's Creed has provided players with the exhilarating experience of embodying a ruthless assassin and experiencing historical places, although via Ubisoft's inventive vision, since its beginning in 2007. The series is centred on the age-old war between the Brotherhood of Assassins and its rivals, the Templars, who are now operating as the nefarious Abstergo organisation. Abstergo employs a technology known as the Animus to unearth historical truths that might lead to humanity's servitude.Needless to say, the stakes are incredibly high.

The gameplay in Assassin's Creed primarily involves third-person perspective combat and fluid parkour, allowing players to traverse the beautifully crafted worlds with ease. As the series progressed, the parkour element has become increasingly seamless, immersing players even further into the experience. However, Ubisoft plans to take it to the next level with the upcoming Assassin's Creed VR game, which will be a first-person perspective experience, a first for the franchise.

Ubisoft announced the thrilling announcement of Assassin's Creed Nexus VR in June 2023, a game that fans had been waiting for for years. While the original presentation was in the form of a CGI trailer, it gave gamers a taste of what they may anticipate from the entire game.

One of the most exciting aspects of Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is the ability to play as series favourites such as Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Connor from Assassin's Creed III, and the legendary Ezio Auditore, who will appear in a quasi-sequel to Assassin's Creed II.

Despite the intriguing premise, real information regarding the game was lacking. Some fans were concerned that the gameplay will be confined and on-rails rather than the free-flowing experience for which the franchise is known. Thankfully, the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account revealed that Nexus VR will have open map environments with 360-degree traversal, allowing players to enjoy the exciting and fluid parkour system they adore.

In other news, Ubisoft appears to have opted to forego a sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising in order to focus on its key brands such as Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six, and Far Cry.

While no official release date for Assassin's Creed Nexus VR has been announced, players may anticipate the game to be available before the end of this year, specifically for current Meta Quest headsets. This highly anticipated entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise promises to reinvent parkour and immerse players in the world of assassins like never before. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the series, Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is one to keep an eye on.
