Kingdom Hearts 4 Announced

Big city called Quadratum

The Kingdom Hearts 4 is officially confirmed by Square Enix at the series 20th anniversary event.

There’s no word on a release date for Kingdom Hearts IV, although Kingdom Hearts 3 was eventually released for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. We do get a glimpse of Sora in the new world of Quadratum, a quick look at gameplay, and an ending tease complete with Donald and Goofy.

"Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the beginning of an epic new storyline titled the 'Lost Master Arc'," Square Enix explains. "Beginning with Sora facing off in a boss battle against a giant enemy, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s well-known companions, in addition to the first appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting."

Donald and Goofy appear at the end without Sora, and they look to be on the search for their friend, as Donald asks, "I wonder where he is?" Then, a mysterious figure off-screen startles them by saying, "Hey! Just where do you think you're going?" Donald and Goofy scream in shock and the video cuts to black with the phrase, "Magic in the Making."

Square Enix used the anniversary event to announce a new mobile game called Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link for iOS and Android, which can also be seen in the trailer montage above.
