Fans of LEGO 2K Drive are running out of time to grab the colorful open-world racer before it vanishes from digital storefronts forever. Publisher 2K has quietly confirmed that the game will be delisted on May 19, 2026, three years after its initial release.
The announcement was made through an update to the game's Steam page, rather than a major public statement, which caught many players off guard. The notice states that LEGO 2K Drive will no longer be available for purchase after Tuesday, May 19, and that all multiplayer servers will be shut down on May 31, 2027.
That means that players who already own the game will be able to use offline features after the shutdown, but online multiplayer and any server-dependent functions will be permanently disabled next year.
Why LEGO 2K Drive Is Being Delisted
Neither 2K nor the developer Visual Concepts have explained why LEGO 2K Drive is being removed from digital stores. Because there was no official announcement, many players believe the delisting is due to expired licensing agreements for the game's branded vehicles.
Fans discovered the news when a new disclaimer appeared on the game's store pages. The discovery quickly spread through gaming forums and social media, with ResetEra users being among the first to highlight the news of LEGO 2K Drive's removal and upcoming server shutdown.
Multiplayer Servers to Shut Down in 2027
Although the delisting occurs next week, players will have approximately one year to enjoy online multiplayer before the servers are taken offline on May 31, 2027.

According to the store's page notice:
“All multiplayer servers for LEGO® 2K Drive will be shut down as of 05/31/2027. After that time, all game functions requiring online servers will no longer function.”
Existing owners will have access to offline gameplay modes, so solo exploration, local content, and vehicle building should continue to function after the shutdown.
Currently, the game is still available digitally for $19.99 before being removed.
LEGO 2K Drive Brought a New Style to LEGO Games
LEGO 2K Drive, released in May 2023, differed from previous LEGO games in that it was developed by Visual Concepts rather than TT Games. The studio is best known for popular sports games such as NBA 2K and WWE 2K.
The game combined arcade racing with open-world exploration in the vibrant world of Bricklandia. Players could construct their own vehicles from bricks and race them down roads, dirt tracks, and through water. While reviews were mixed, many fans praised its inventive gameplay, comparing it to a family-friendly version of Forza Horizon.
The removal of LEGO 2K Drive comes as more gamers express concerns about digital ownership and game preservation. Supporters of the "Stop Killing Games" movement believe that publishers should not remove games or disable online features so quickly.
Last year, the campaign received a lot of interest after collecting over one million signatures. For many fans, the upcoming end of LEGO 2K Drive is another example of how modern digital games can vanish just a few years after their release. Players who want the game must purchase it before it is permanently removed from online stores.
