Fans of post-apocalyptic shooters now have something to look forward to. 4A Games has officially confirmed that Metro 2039, the next installment in the critically acclaimed Metro franchise, will be revealed on April 16 during a special Xbox digital showcase.

The upcoming reveal will take place during an Xbox-hosted livestream, giving players their first look at the long-awaited sequel. The broadcast is set for 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT / 6 p.m. BST and will be available on Xbox's official YouTube channel.

This is the first new entry in the series since Metro Exodus, which debuted in 2019 and expanded the franchise beyond Moscow's claustrophobic tunnels to a more open, devastated world.

The Metro series based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels combines survival horror with complex political and philosophical narratives. Since Metro 2033, it has been known for its captivating atmosphere, intense gameplay, and immersive world.
