Capcom just dropped a new Resident Evil Requiem trailer in collaboration with Nvidia, showing off the game’s awesome path tracing visuals on RTX graphics cards. This quick preview not only highlights the advanced lighting tech but also gives us a sneak peek at a new urban setting, likely Wrenwood, the fictional city where a big part of the game takes place.

Nvidia just dropped a video and shared that Resident Evil Requiem is coming out with full DLSS 4 support, including Multi-Frame Generation. They've also optimized it for path tracing. Nvidia says that lighting is super important in a survival horror game like Resident Evil, whether it's flickering hallway lights, neon-lit streets, or the soft glow of a lighter piercing the dark.

With path tracing turned on, the game now shows off multiple dynamic shadows from different light sources, along with cool effects like realistic reflections and light bending through glass. This leads to more natural lighting and a deeper sense of immersion, making the series look almost like real life with its surreal, photorealistic style.

The latest RTX trailer shows just how advanced the tech has become. By using DLSS 4, RTX lighting, and path tracing, Resident Evil Requiem reportedly hits an impressive 250 to 300 FPS on supported hardware, highlighting Nvidia’s newest performance boosts.

One of the coolest things we've seen is a quick glimpse of a big city environment that looks like you can actually play in it. This lines up with what Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem has been saying—that Requiem will have open areas like Raccoon City, complete with a vehicle to get around.

Capcom hasn't spilled the beans on how exploring the city will work, but Dusk Golem keeps saying the game will have several "big open levels" that let you roam around instead of just following a straight path.

To add to the hype, Capcom just announced that Leon Kennedy will be a second playable character, and he’s got his own Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT. With all the focus on open worlds, it sounds like the car might be more than just a cutscene prop.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to drop on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, promising a visually stunning and tech-savvy leap forward for the iconic survival horror series.
