In the forthcoming PlayStation Plus Essentials selection for September 2023, the spotlight will reportedly shine on the highly anticipated reboot of Saints Row from 2022.
According to Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has a reputation for correctly predicting PlayStation Plus line-ups over the past couple of years, subscribers to PS Plus will be able to snag Saints Row and two other yet-to-be-announced titles between September 5 and October 3. The official reveal of the September 2023 PS Plus offers is scheduled for August 30.
For those holding a PlayStation Plus subscription, there's a deadline of September 4 to seize the August Essential titles, which encompass PGA Tour 2K23 (available on both PS5 and PS4), Dreams (exclusive to PS4), and Death’s Door (accessible on PS5 and PS4).
Initially introduced in August 2022, Volition's reboot of Saints Row was released for gaming consoles and PC, initially available through the Epic Games Store. This month, the game extended its reach with a launch on Steam, accompanied by its third DLC installment.
During Embracer’s AGM in September, CEO Lars Wingefors of Embracer expressed his personal disappointment with the mixed reception Saints Row received. He shared his sentiments, saying, "Personally, I had hoped for a greater reception to the game. It’s been very polarising. There are a lot of things that could be said in detail around it, but I’m with one hand happy to see lots of gamers and fans happy, and at the same time I’m a bit sad to also see fans not happy, so it’s difficult."
