In Resident Evil Requiem, inventory management is essential for survival. You'll constantly come across ammo, herbs, and puzzle items while exploring, but your character can only carry so much.
Grace Ashcroft starts the game with only eight inventory slots. That space fills up quickly, particularly during lengthy exploration sections.
Hip Pouches can help you increase your carrying capacity. These special upgrades expand your inventory, allowing you to carry more items. In total, there are four Hip Pouches in the game, and collecting them all expands your inventory to 16 slots.
Here’s where to find every Hip Pouch in Resident Evil Requiem.
Where To Find Hip Pouches in Resident Evil Requiem
Hip Pouch 1 – Parlor (Rhodes Hill Care Center)
The first Hip Pouch can be found in the Parlor in the West Wing of Rhodes Hill Care Center.
You’ll reach this area while solving the Moon, Sun, and Star puzzle. Once the room opens, look for a Coin Locker inside the Parlor. To get the Hip Pouch, you need 3 Antique Coins. The good news is that you can usually find several coins inside the same room, so you can unlock it right away.
Inventory after upgrade: 10 slots
Hip Pouch 2 – Filing Room (West Wing)
The second Hip Pouch is also located in the West Wing of Rhodes Hill, inside the Filing Room.
To access it, you must first obtain the Level 1 ID Wristband. This item is found on a body in the hallway between the Lead Researcher’s Office and the Conference Room. Once you have the wristband, return to the Filing Room and unlock the closet. Inside you’ll find handgun ammo and the Hip Pouch.
Inventory after upgrade: 12 slots
Hip Pouch 3 – Processing Room (Basement)
The third Hip Pouch is located in the Processing Room in the basement of Rhodes Hill Care Center.
While exploring the basement and solving the Joint Plug puzzle, you’ll find the Forklift Key. Use this key on a forklift nearby to move it and clear a blocked doorway. Inside the newly opened room, you’ll find the Hip Pouch and the area map.
Inventory after upgrade: 14 slots
Hip Pouch 4 – Bioweapon Repository 05 (ARK)
The fourth and final Hip Pouch is found in the ARK, the final area of the game.
Head to Bioweapon Repository 05, a large room filled with containers and dangerous enemies like Lickers. Look for glowing switches on the sides of the containers. Activate the switch on the container near the entrance to open it. Inside, you’ll find the Hip Pouch and an Empty Bottle.
It’s best to defeat the Lickers first, but stealth players can also grab the pouch without fighting.
Final inventory size: 16 slots
Do Hip Pouches Carry Over in New Game+?
No. Hip Pouches do not carry over to new runs. Even if you start another playthrough with bonuses, Grace’s inventory resets to 8 slots, and you’ll need to collect the Hip Pouches again.
Inventory space is an essential survival tool in Resident Evil Requiem. Finding all four Hip Pouches allows you to carry more ammo, healing items, and puzzle tools, making exploration much more convenient.
If you want the best experience, try to collect the first two Hip Pouches as soon as possible, as they significantly reduce the constant inventory pressure in the early chapters.
