Lords of the Fallen, a game with Souls-like characteristics, is filled with secret areas that hold priceless loot, including armour, spells, and weapons. Most of the time, you need a special trick or a certain item, like the Pilgrim's Perch Key in Lords of the Fallen to get inside these restricted regions. But before you decide to spend your hard-earned Vigour, the in-game cash, and experience points on this expensive item, let's examine whether it is actually worth it.

The Pilgrim's Perch Key: Is It Worth the Price?

The Pilgrim's Perch Key is unique because it costs a whopping 9,500 Vigour. This price is incredibly high, especially given that it's one of the first things in the game that can be bought, and it stays higher than most other things for the duration of the game.

Pilgrim's Perch Key: A Pricey Purchase

Should you buy the Pilgrim's Perch Key, then? Here are the reasons why we can categorically say no. Even though this key unlocks a few doors in the Pilgrim's Perch region, the information inside of them doesn't immediately offer much advantages.

A suit of bulky armour can be found inside the first door you come across. Although it is attractive, it won't be available for equipping for a while. In addition, the other doors this key opens go to regions where extremely powerful enemies are waiting to destroy you unless you've developed your game abilities.

Additionally, it's important to keep in mind that later on in the game, you'll get another Pilgrim's Perch Key. Two of the game's five beacons are lit at the same time as receiving this gift. After completing this achievement, you'll return to the hub area where one of the NPCs will have left the key with a visible letter. Given this, it would be foolish to use up your early-game Vigour on the key, wasting valuable resources.

How To Obtain The Pilgrim's Perch Key

  1. Exploration at Pilgrim's Perch: You are going to come across locked Bell Doors and other doors throughout Pilgrim's Perch that can only be opened with the Pilgrim's Perch Key.

  2. Meet Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis: Thankfully, protecting the Pilgrim's Perch Key is a simple undertaking. Go to Skyrest Bridge and search for Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis, an NPC. On the right side of the Vestige he is located.

  3. Purchase the Key: Select the "Purchase" option from Stomund's menu after starting a chat with him. The Pilgrim's Perch Key will cost you a substantial amount of 9,500 Vigour, so be prepared.

  4. One Key Opens All Doors: Despite the fact that the key is numbered "1," there is no need to worry about having several keys for different doors. Using a single key that works similarly to the Skyrest Bridge Key, you can open all of those doors.

  5. Stronger Enemies Await: Exercise caution if you decide to enter the secured areas. More powerful foes than you've met so far on your adventure are usually waiting for you behind these doors, especially those beyond the Bell Doors.

Let's now describe the areas where you can use the Pilgrim's Perch Key:

  1. Gerlinde the Blacksmith's Area: In this place, a door is unlocked by the key.

  2. Pilgrim's Perch Bellroom/Vestige of Blind Agatha: You can use the key to open a Bell Door nearby.

  3. Redcopse Windmill/Vestige of Marco the Axe: The Pilgrim's Perch Key opens another Bell Door close by.

  4. Umbral Flowerbed along the Main Progression Road: Soon after reaching Pilgrim's Perch, the key opens a locked door in this area, making it possible to leave the area.

Although the Pilgrim's Perch Key's heavy price may tempt you, it's best to keep your Vigour for early-game purchases that are more sensible. By being patient and making progress, you can acquire this key without having to pay for it, giving you a useful tool to improve Lords of the Fallen character abilities.
