Konami has released nearly 18 minutes of new gameplay from Silent Hill: Townfall, providing fans with the clearest look yet at the upcoming psychological horror game and protagonist Simon's mysterious journey.

The latest footage takes players to St. Amelia, a fantasy fishing village on the Scottish coast. The island is shrouded in fog and filled with abandoned buildings, strange messages, and unsettling sounds, giving the impression that something has gone very wrong.

Simon arrives after receiving a mysterious message from a woman named Zoe requesting his return to the island. The strange part is that Simon doesn't seem to remember St. Amelia or his connection to Zoe.

Silent Hill Townfall Introduces a New Gameplay Style

Simon's CRTV is an interesting feature of Silent Hill Townfall. Because the game takes place in 1996, the developers replaced a small portable TV for the radio used in previous Silent Hill games.

Simon can use the CRTV to find signals and images from various locations across the island. These images guide him on his next steps and assist players in exploring the mysterious town.

The CRTV can also alert Simon when enemies are nearby and show their location. Players can use this information to hide or escape. Simon can also distract monsters and sneak past them, but he has a pistol to defend himself if there is no way out.

Silent Hill Townfall Story Raises New Questions

The gameplay becomes more alarming as Simon approaches Zoe's house. Inside, he is connected to an IV and has a blood bag attached to his arm. He also discovers a locked container that appears to hold a human organ. These strange discoveries cause Simon to question his past and wonder why he was summoned back to St. Amelia.

Later, the gameplay shifts to the terrifying Other World, where everything becomes much more dangerous. Simon investigates a strange and damaged building while fighting with creatures and searching for answers. The risky surroundings add to the mystery surrounding Simon and his past.

The new clip also shows how important music and sound will be in the horror experience. The foggy island, quiet locations, and unsettling audio contribute to a tense atmosphere.

Silent Hill Townfall is set to be released on September 24 for PC and PlayStation 5.
