Remake for PS5, but not for PC.
The last of us remake for next-gen PS5 is finally announced by Naughty Dogs in the Live event from Summer Fest Game 2022. As the rumor suggested, the game is scheduled to release on September 2 for PS5, and PC version is in development. Here’s the description from Sony:
Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feels immersed with improved effects, and enhanced exploration and combat.
It was also revealed that, in addition to a PlayStation 5 release, The Last of Us is also coming to PC, though the release date was not included in the trailer. However, developers said it will come to PC "shortly" after the PS5 release. Now Last of Us to follow footstep of PC ports for PlayStation Exclusive like God of War, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Death Stranding, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
During the Summer Game Fest 2022 event, the team from Naughty Dog confirmed all of that news, a few more details about the HBO series.
The game will seemingly be sold in both a standard and Firefly Edition. The latter includes a steel book display case, copies of the Last of Us: American Dreams comics issues 1-4, and "early in-game unlocks. The Left Behind DLC is included with The Last of Us remake, but not multiplayer-Naughty Dog is at work on a standalone Last of Us multiplayer game, it confirmed. Naughty Dog said in a blog:
Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5's powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers. Both returning fans and new players alike will have the opportunity to experience both The Last of Us part 1 and its prequel story Left Behind in a whole new way.
The Standard Edition release will cost ($69.99), while a Digital Deluxe Edition is( $10) more and includes early unlocks for several in-game items. At the highest end, the Firefly Edition costs ($99.99), and you can only get it from the PlayStation Direct website.
