Wrenwood Hotel Walkthrough

Grace begins her investigation in the rainy streets of Wrenwood, a city not far from the ruins of Raccoon City.

Find the Wrenwood Hotel

After gaining control of Grace:

  • Walk down the main street.

  • Check the information booth near the barber shop to collect the Wrenwood City Guide File (very easy to miss).

  • Continue forward until you reach a police-taped alley.

  • Show your badge and enter the alley leading to the condemned hotel.

This section is calm but full of atmosphere. Take your time and collect early files.

Investigate the Crime Scene

Inside the alley:

  • Crouch under scaffolding.

  • Enter through the employee entrance.

  • Turn on your flashlight.

  • Move through the kitchen and into the lounge area.

Here, you automatically receive the Investigation Report File. It explains that the victim had strange black bruising similar to other survivors of the Raccoon City incident.

Important Actions:

  • Inspect the bathroom (last stall).

  • Return to the lounge.

  • Pick up the photo of Grace taped near the bar.

  • Flip it over to find the Old Key and message: “Let’s talk – Room 204.”

Once you take the key, the exit slams shut. Now you must move forward.

Head to Room 204

  • Use the Old Key to unlock the door near the bar.

  • Explore the main lobby.

Important collectibles here:

  • Hotel Pamphlet (near luggage cart)

  • Investigate the old radio.

  • Inspect the photos of Grace on the bed.

This triggers a flashback set eight years earlier.

Follow Alyssa:

  • Downstairs to the lobby.

  • Watch as she hides a satchel behind a painting.

  • Search patient rooms carefully.

  • Conserve ammunition.

  • Expect narrow hallways and sudden enemy attacks.

Key Tips:

  • Always check cabinets and drawers for ammo.

To restore power:

  • Find the generator room.

  • Solve the simple switch sequence puzzle.

  • Avoid enemies attracted by noise.

Turning the power back on unlocks access to restricted rooms.

Mini-Boss Encounter

You will face a mutated infected patient.

Strategy:

  • Aim for weak spots (usually glowing or exposed flesh).

  • Keep distance.

  • Use environment obstacles.

  • Save stronger ammo for this fight.

After defeating the mini-boss, you unlock critical story progression and new areas.

Resident Evil Requiem blends psychological horror, emotional storytelling, and classic survival gameplay. The Wrenwood Hotel sets up a deeply personal mystery, while the Care Center expands the threat into something much larger.

If you explore carefully, manage your resources, and solve puzzles patiently, you’ll survive the early chapters without too much trouble.
