According to reports, Microsoft has located the core cause of a serious problem that causes saved progress in Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series X/S to be lost. The highly acclaimed role-playing game by Larian Studios, which was delayed in its Xbox release due to technical issues, was ultimately released on Microsoft's console last month during The Game awards, where it won six renowned awards.
Players discovered a serious flaw after the game's release that caused them to lose their saved game data. After offering a number of workarounds in the past, Microsoft is now said to have identified the root of the issue and is actively developing a long-term fix.
Larian Studios stated in a recent update
"Microsoft has identified the cause of the save bug on Xbox, and will be issuing a firmware update to fix it," .
The studio recommended that on January 16, players can manually update their consoles or wait one more week for the fix to be rolled out globally.
Even though the fix hasn't been independently confirmed yet, Larian Studios was positive, saying,
“Although we haven’t been able to independently verify this fix, we’re optimistic that Microsoft has gotten to the bottom of it!”
Players were also given confirmation by Larian Studios that a fix for the Xbox version of Baldur's Gate 3 save glitch is in the works and should be released the following week. In related news, Larian CEO Swen Vincke revealed on Monday that work on a project's first act drafting had advanced. Nevertheless, Vincke kept the specifics under wraps for the time being and advised supporters not to expect an official announcement regarding the title anytime soon.
