Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Announced with New Story Expansion and Roguelike Mode

The upcoming chapter of Ghost of Yōtei will be very important. Sony and Sucker Punch Productions have announced the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, which includes a new story expansion, roguelike combat mode, and additional features for the PS5 adventure.
The biggest announcement is Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, a narrative expansion that will launch on October 1, 2026. The story will shift between Atsu's current journey in Ezo and flashbacks to her previous life on the mainland.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Expands Atsu’s Past
Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara will go deeper into Atsu's past and introduce a new character, Nagato, who has a connection to her previous life. After arriving in Ezo, Nagato joins Atsu's new journey.
Players will also explore a previously unseen valley that was once home to The Snake and his followers, the Vipers. The expansion will switch between the present and flashbacks, giving players a closer look at Atsu’s experiences during the Battle of Sekigahara, before she returned home to begin her quest for revenge.
The new story will also bring fresh gameplay content. Players can expect new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes and other rewards as they explore the new area and uncover more about Atsu’s past.
Ghost of Yōtei Adds Most Wanted Roguelike Combat
Ghost of Yōtei will add most wanted mode feature in new single-player combat survival mode with roguelike gameplay. Players can complete bounties, defeat enemies, and earn perks as they progress via multiple quests.
The mode will also allow players to unlock new characters, each with a unique fighting style. Atsu uses two katanas, Oyuki specializes in the kusarigama, and Nagato fights with a yari. This provides additional ways for players to enjoy Ghost of Yōtei's combat after finishing the main story.
Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Price
The Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition is $69.99 for new players. It contains the base game, Legends, Deluxe Edition content, the new Echoes of Sekigahara expansion, and the Most Wanted mode.
Players who already own Ghost of Yōtei can get the new content through the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99. Those who purchase the Complete Edition or pre-order the upgrade by September 30 will gain early access to the Sakai Armor, which is inspired by Jin Sakai from Ghost of Tsushima.
Free October Update Adds More Features
A free update for Ghost of Yōtei will be available on October 1. The new mode, Beauty of Yōtei, showcases the game's stunning landscapes in a screensaver-style view. The update will also include transom, which allows players to change the appearance of their gear without affecting its gameplay benefits.
The update will also include new Photo Mode stamps, New Game+ cosmetics, trophies, and Watanabe Mode tracks. Along with the new story expansion and Most Wanted mode, these additions give existing players more reasons to return to Atsu's adventure.
