Bungie just announced that their new sci-fi survival extraction shooter, Marathon, is set to drop on March 5, 2026. To make it even cooler, they're also releasing some exclusive PlayStation gear to celebrate.

Sony and Bungie are teaming up to bring out a Marathon Limited Edition DualSense controller and a matching Pulse Elite wireless headset. Both are designed with the game's bold futuristic vibe in mind. You can grab these accessories on the same day the game launches, and pre-orders kick off later this month.

Marathon Limited Edition DualSense Controller: Price and Pre-Order Details

The Marathon Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller will be priced at $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99 and will be available in limited quantities globally. Pre-orders start on January 29 at 10:00 AM local time, exclusively through PlayStation Direct (where available) and select participating retailers.

Sony describes the controller as a joint effort between PlayStation’s hardware team and Bungie’s art department. The final design includes clean typography, fractured geometric patterns, and subtle iconography that reflect Marathon’s industrial sci-fi world—without disrupting the controller’s standard layout.

Bungie states that the aim was to design a controller that seamlessly fits within Marathon’s universe, balancing functional realism with a striking visual identity.

Marathon Pulse Elite Wireless Headset Also Announced

Sony's also dropping a Marathon-themed Pulse Elite wireless headset for $169.99, but here's the catch: it's only for folks in the U.S. and you can snag it exclusively through PlayStation Direct.

Even though the headset matches the look of the DualSense, getting your hands on one will be tough since it's only available in certain areas.

Marathon was supposed to come out in September 2025, but it's been pushed back. They got some mixed reviews from the early alpha tests and ran into some drama over unapproved artwork in the test versions. Bungie said they needed more time to tweak the gameplay and make sure it's top-notch.

The studio also promised players that Marathon won't have any pay-to-win stuff. All the gameplay updates will be free, and the optional reward passes won't have an expiration date, so you can take your time leveling up.
