Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2 Confirmed for PS4 and PS5 Release in July

Following years of fan requests and persistent rumors, Activision and Treyarch have officially confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on modern PlayStation platforms in July bringing the beloved classics back to Sony gamers for the first time since the PlayStation 3.

The announcement brings an end to months of speculation about potential PlayStation ports of the legendary first-person shooters. While Xbox users have continued to enjoy both games thanks to the ability to go back PlayStation owners have been unable to play the original Black Ops titles on PS4 or PS5 until now.

According to Treyarch, the new versions are being created by Iron Galaxy, a studio known for working on several major game ports and recent high-profile projects. The ports will include the full Black Ops experience, including:

• Full single-player campaigns

• Multiplayer modes

• Fan-favorite Zombies content

This means that players can relive some of the franchise's most memorable storylines while also returning to the multiplayer and cooperative experiences that defined an era of Call of Duty.

Players expecting serious graphical improvements may be disappointed, as Treyarch has confirmed that Black Ops and Black Ops 2 will return as ports rather than remasters.
