Activision has officially released the first information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's Season 2 setting the groundwork for an action-packed game that will debut on February 7.The company said on Tuesday,
"Get ready to take on the Horde in Season 2 of Call of Duty Warzone and MW3 beginning on February 7."
The news was released in concert with Season 2 promotional images that prominently featured The Walking Dead's protagonist, Rick Grimes, increasing rumours of a potential crossover between the two properties.
Early on, when Call of Duty dataminer @ModenasHD claimed to have found evidence of a Walking Dead crossover within the game, hints of this collaboration had appeared. They revealed last November that "in-game strings suggest the possible release of Rick Grimes and Michonne as Operators." It's widely believed it has something to do with the 'The Ones Who Live' spin-off, which is scheduled for publication on February 25, 2024, even though no official confirmation has been given.
For fans of both properties, the spin-off, which is set in the wake of the original The Walking Dead series, adds even more intrigue. The most recent updates come after Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded, which debuted in mid-January and included multiple game modes and a new multiplayer map.
Leaked narrative and multiplayer gameplay from a forthcoming Call of Duty game appeared over the weekend, providing fans with an unexpected sneak peek. Furthermore, the upcoming Season 2 features a significant crossover with The Walking Dead, which improves the game experience and unites two beloved worlds in an original manner.
In related news, Blizzard has appointed Johanna Faries, a former general manager of Call of Duty, as its new president which is a calculated move inside the game companies. Another interesting project is the futuristic sci-fi series, codenamed NX1, which was being developed at Activision's Neversoft studio. This is especially noteworthy considering the firm's well-known history, having produced games like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater before to its closure in 2014.
