Crimson Desert First Story DLC Expansion Is Releasing Next Month

Crimson Desert is expanding beyond Pywel's familiar surroundings. Pearl Abyss has officially announced Charting the Unknown, the first major DLC expansion for its open-world action RPG, which will launch on October 15.
The expansion was revealed during Sony's most recent State of Play presentation, where Pearl Abyss revealed several new features for the game. Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown will cost $24.99/£19.99, and preorders will include a Deep-Sea Diver Outfit as a bonus.
Unlike the base game's land-based exploration, the upcoming DLC will move players across and beneath the ocean. One of the most significant additions is ship-based exploration, which allows players to captain their own vessel and travel to uncharted islands and locations beyond Pywel's familiar coastlines.
Underwater exploration is another important feature. Players will be able to explore beneath the surface to find sunken ruins, hidden treasures, and mysterious locations, potentially leading to new paths and secrets throughout the expansion.
Charting the Unknown will also feature new enemies, battles, and story elements. The adventure is set after the main story and follows Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they continue their journeys and face new challenges.
Pearl Abyss is also expanding Crimson Desert's housing options. Players will gain more customization options, as well as the ability to rent and manage various facilities.
The new storyline appears to explore a number of unusual themes, including political conflict, a mysterious threat in the desert, an ancient secret beneath the sea, and a journey through time adventure. The eclectic imagery in the trailer suggests that the DLC may take Crimson Desert's already unpredictable world in unexpected directions.
With an October 15 release date, new maritime gameplay, underwater exploration, and additional story content, Charting the Unknown looks to be a significant expansion for Crimson Desert players looking for another reason to return to Pywel.
