David Beckham is officially making his Fortnite debut. Epic Games has confirmed that the global football icon will be on latest addition to the popular games Icon Series, allowing players to play as one of the sport's most well-known legends.

The announcement has quickly become one of Fortnite's most anticipated collaboration reveals of the week, with fans flooding social media after Epic teased Beckham's arrival with a brief but eye-catching message.

Fortnite Confirms David Beckham Collaboration

Epic Games sparked excitement by posting a teaser on the official Fortnite social channels, saying;

"Setting up the perfect play. Victory Royale incoming with David Beckham."

Despite initially revealing few details, the teaser received thousands of reactions within hours, showing Beckham's status as one of the most recognizable names in world football even years after retiring.

The collaboration will go live in the Fortnite Item Shop on Friday, July 17, with players able to purchase a variety of David Beckham-themed cosmetics.

Two David Beckham Skins Head to Fortnite

The collaboration features two playable versions of Beckham, each representing a different stage of his career.

The standard David Beckham outfit is match-ready, with both shirted and shirtless style options. The skin includes reactive tattoos that glow gold when a player is eliminated, as well as Beckham's Number Back Bling. A LEGO Fortnite Minifigure version is also provided.

The second cosmetic, Club Owner David Beckham Outfit, honors Beckham's position as president and co-owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. The formal suit-style skin includes a Club Crest Back Bling that responds to player emotes and damage received during gameplay. Like the standard outfit, it comes with a LEGO Fortnite version.

Beckham is the latest football star to join Fortnite's Icon Series, joining Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, Son Heung-min, and Vinícius Júnior.

"Fortnite creates new and exciting ways to connect with fans around the world," Beckham said. "It's been great working with them to create something that celebrates my career on and off the pitch."

For Epic Games, adding Beckham strengthens Fortnite's growing roster of real-world celebrities while also appealing to football fans in Europe, South America, Asia, and elsewhere.

When the skins hit the Item Shop on July 17, Fortnite players will be able to score Victory Royales alongside one of football's greatest icons.
