The highly awaited sequel to the beloved RPG Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled to make an explosive entry with a massive file size requirement of 150 GB. This news follows the release of an engaging new teaser at the recent PlayStation State of Play event. In the run-up to the game's release, Square Enix has been slowly revealing more details about it.

The amazing 100 hours of content promised by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a remarkable feature. The State of Play teaser attracted players with glimpses of several mini-games and modes of exploration within the game's as big the world, indicating a wealth of cuts outside of the main storyline. Square Enix has now revealed that gamers will require a massive 150 GB of storage space to begin their Rebirth journey.

In an interview with Game Informer, director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledged the massive storage required and noted that the game would cover two discs. These discs contain 100 GB and 50 GB of data, respectively, but players will only need to insert one to begin their adventure. The decision to release the game on two discs can be attributed to the PS5's architecture, which removes the necessity for disc swapping, in contrast to the original Final Fantasy 7.

The switch to a dual-disc structure has sparked fans' interest, as Hamaguchi explained that it allows the production team to completely achieve their vision for the game, producing a meticulously detailed environment that surpasses the scope of Midgar in Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Trying to fit the game into a single disc would have meant sacrificing important elements, making the two-disc option the clear winner.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released on the PS5 on February 29, 2024, for those eager to embark on this epic the journey.
