Funcom has announced a delay in the release of its highly anticipated survival game Dune: Awakening, pushing it back from May 20 to June 10. The decision comes as the team want to incorporate more feedback from the ongoing beta testing phase. The game will now offer early access beginning June 5, offering excited gamers a head start before its official release.
In a statement, Funcom explained that the development team has been actively engaging with beta testers through the game’s Discord channel. This direct communication has allowed developers to gather valuable insights and feedback to ensure that the game is fine-tuned for its full launch.
“Thanks to the active involvement of our community, we’ve realized that a bit more time will allow us to address additional feedback that will help make Dune: Awakening the best game possible,”
said Funcom.
“While we know everyone is eager to dive into the world of Dune, these extra three weeks will provide the time we need to improve the gameplay experience from the very beginning.”
The delay also allows for a large-scale testing weekend next month, during which more people can test the game and provide feedback. Funcom is going to provide more information about this beta weekend shortly.
Fans of Dune: Awakening can mark their calendars for the new early access date of June 5, with the official release on June 10. Funcom's effort to improving the game based on user feedback indicates their dedication to providing the greatest possible experience for gamers.
