The long wait for GTA 6 continues but new comments from Take-Two Interactive executives have revealed just how much the game's timeline has shifted behind the scenes.

According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, the highly anticipated blockbuster has fallen roughly 18 months behind its original launch date. The announcement came during a recent podcast appearance in which he briefly discussed the development process of what is expected to be one of the most significant entertainment launches in history.

When Rockstar Games first revealed GTA 6 the trailer suggested a 2025 release date. There was no official release date at the time, but based on early industry reports and speculation, many people expected the game to arrive in early or mid-2025.

Since then, the schedule has changed numerous times. The game was originally planned for fall 2025, then moved to May 2026, and is now officially scheduled for November 19, 2026, according to Take-Two Interactive.

The delay shows how complex modern AAA game development has become, especially for a massive title like GTA 6. Rockstar Games is known for taking the time to create highly detailed open-world games, and GTA 6 is expected to raise the bar even higher. Because of its size and popularity, industry experts expect the game to dominate sales at launch and may even influence future pricing trends in the gaming industry.

Despite confirming the release date, Rockstar has not yet shared pre-order details or final pricing for GTA 6. This led to ongoing speculation in the gaming industry about the game's actual cost.

Some analysts believe the price will remain at the current $70 level, while others believe it will rise due to the massive development scale and costs. There is also speculation in financial circles that GTA 6 will be priced at $80 or even $100, which may influence how other game publishers set prices in the future.

Despite the delays, expectations for GTA 6 remain extremely high. The franchise has always set new gaming standards, and the upcoming title is expected to break major records at launch, making it one of the most successful entertainment releases in history.

With the release date set for November 2026, Rockstar Games still has time for development and polishing. Fans are waiting for more updates on gameplay, pre-orders, and pricing, but Take-Two says the game is still on track and moving toward its final release stage.
