IO Interactive has officially revealed that starting February 3, Hitman: World of Assassination will offer full cross-progression support, allowing players to transfer their progress across different platforms for the first time.

The update arrives as part of the game’s fifth anniversary celebration, marking five years since Hitman 3 originally launched in 2021. In 2023, the title was rebranded as Hitman: World of Assassination, combining content from Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 (2018), and Hitman 3 into one complete experience.

A Long-Awaited Feature Hitman 3 Fans Have Been Asking For

According to IO Interactive, cross-progression has been one of the most requested features since the trilogy expanded to more than ten platforms. With this update, players will finally be able to switch between devices without losing their hard-earned progress.

Once the feature goes live, progression will sync across:

  • PS5 and PS4

  • Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One

  • Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

  • PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows Store)

  • iOS

Whether you move from console to PC, play on multiple systems, or upgrade to new hardware, your journey as Agent 47 will continue seamlessly.

What Progress Will Carry Over in Hitman?

IO Interactive confirmed that most in-game progress will be shared across platforms, including:

  • Player level and experience

  • Mission and challenge completion

  • Location mastery

  • Inventory and unlocked items

  • Campaign story progress

  • Freelancer mode progression

  • Achievements and trophies

All progression data will be stored online, ensuring that your gameplay history stays intact wherever you play.

DLC is still platform-specific, so you’ll need to own expansions on each system to access them, even though your main progress carries over. Cross-progression also uses one primary save, which you can change later if needed.

The old Hitman 2 to Hitman 3 carryover shuts down on February 3, so transfer any remaining progress before then.

With cross-progression uniting years of gameplay across all platforms, Agent 47’s journey will finally move with you wherever you play.
