Square Enix has officially announced Life Is Strange: Reunion, the latest installment in the much-loved narrative-driven series. As the name implies, the game brings back fan-favorite characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, marking their first on-screen reunion in several years. Excitingly for fans, the game is set to release soon, with a launch date of March 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Developed by Deck Nine, the studio responsible for Before the Storm, True Colors, and Double Exposure, Life Is Strange: Reunion is confirmed as the concluding chapter in Max and Chloe’s story. While earlier entries in the series introduced new protagonists and settings, this game returns to the series' emotional foundations.
Life Is Strange: Reunion Story Shaped by Time and Consequences
In Life Is Strange: Reunion, the story takes players back to Caledon University, where Max is now working as a photography teacher. When she returns from a short weekend trip, she finds the campus in ruins after a huge fire that has taken the lives of students, teachers, and people she cares about.
Using her time-rewind power, Max narrowly escapes the disaster. By jumping back in time through a selfie, she gets a second chance—but only three days—to find out what caused the fire and stop it from happening.
Things take an unexpected turn when Chloe Price suddenly shows up. Her return is linked to the timeline changes from Life Is Strange: Double Exposure. Chloe is troubled by memories of a life she never lived and feels disconnected from reality. As secrets begin to surface and timelines collide, Max and Chloe must face the truth together before time runs out once again.
Dual Protagonists and Returning Abilities
For the first time in the series, players will play as both Max and Chloe at different moments. Max can rewind time to change choices, while Chloe uses her new Backtalk ability to handle tense situations with attitude and humor.
By using both characters’ skills, players will solve story-driven puzzles, uncover clues, and make emotional choices that shape the Life Is Strange experience.
Release Date, Pre-Orders, and Editions
Life Is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, just two months away. Pre-orders are already live and include a free classic outfit pack for both Max and Chloe.
The game will be available in two editions:
Standard Edition
Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes a digital mini soundtrack, digital artbook, digital comic, and a behind-the-scenes documentary
With its emotional storytelling, familiar faces, and high-stakes mystery, Life Is Strange: Reunion is shaping up to be a meaningful farewell for Max and Chloe—and a must-play for longtime fans of the series.
