Microsoft has once again got the gaming industry by storm with the release of its next Xbox controller masterpiece. The Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox controller is now available for pre-order for $69.99, ₹ 6,390.00 or £64.99, with a release date of October 17th.


According to Microsoft, this controller is a tribute to the Xbox One's iconic Shadow series designs, with a beautiful gold-to-black metallic finish on its top casing. The top cover and D-Pad shine with improvement, while the rest of the controller is wrapped in a sleek carbon black, allowing the gold accents to shine through.

The refined design of this controller however extends beyond the surface. It provides diverse connectivity by wirelessly connecting to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One consoles, PCs, mobile phones, and tablets using Bluetooth and Xbox Wireless technology.


Each controller is Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth compatible. This enables you to connect your Xbox Wireless Gold Shadow Controller - Special Edition to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, as well as PC, iOS, and Android devices and tablets1. With up to 40 hours of battery life and a dedicated Share button2, you can record your gaming highlights and seamlessly transition between devices. Furthermore, the 3.5mm headphone jack allows for easy communication with compatible headphones, and the Xbox Accessories software offers further customization choices.


Microsoft had already impressed gamers with new controller designs in 2023. The year began in February with the release of the stunning blue-purple Stellar Shift controller, followed by the vivid Velocity Green controller in March. During the same month, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller was released in both red and blue models.

May provided a breath of fresh air with the Sunkissed Vibes controller, which was printed out in a lovely peach and pastel blue design. The limited edition Starfield controller arrived on the market in June, leaving fans searching for more.


Microsoft revealed the Stormcloud Vapour Xbox Series X/S controller in August, while the amazing Astral Purple wireless controller arrived in September.


As if the Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox controller wasn't thrilling enough, Microsoft is already hinting at the gaming future. A leaked controller nicknamed Sebile has gamers crazy with excitement. This controller, which was accidentally revealed in unredacted court documents, promises to take gaming to new heights thanks to better haptic feedback, an accelerometer, built-in speakers, and a rechargeable and removable battery.


This promising view into Microsoft's roadmap until 2030 suggests an even more immersive gaming experience, confirming the company's passion to pushing game technology's boundaries.
