With the release of Monster Hunter Wilds Capcom has finally revealed the much awaited addition to the Monster Hunter franchise. The game is scheduled for release in 2025 and will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto showed his excitement in a video posted on the official PlayStation YouTube channel during the Game Awards 2023. He said,
"We were finally able to announce the next game in the series, Monster Hunter Wilds, at the Game Awards 2023 today."
While keeping certain details under wraps, Tsujimoto teased fans by mentioning,
"This announcement is just the start, so there’s a lot about the game we can’t go into detail about yet. The game features a new level of detailed creatures and ecosystems, so please enjoy dissecting the trailer to get an idea of what to expect."
Addressing the longstanding connection between Monster Hunter and PlayStation, Tsujimoto reflected,
"This upcoming March marks 20 years since Monster Hunter first released on PlayStation 2 back in 2004. While previous titles were released in Japan first, Monster Hunter World on PS4 was a global simultaneous release."
Tsujimoto expressed gratitude for fans' consistent support, saying, "Thanks to all of your support, the series has grown into something beloved by players all over the world." The combination of cutting-edge hardware and the most recent Monster Hunter game will be tempting.
Capcom has announced that more information about Monster Hunter Wilds will be revealed in the summer of 2024, increasing excitement for what promises to be an exhilarating addition to the renowned Monster Hunter franchise.
